Job summary
The
temporary staffing deployment team are the main point of contact for all
nursing and midwifery temporary staffing workforce and ward staff. You will
guide candidates through their recruitment journey and coordinate their
experience as a member of the temporary workforce.
As
a Deployment Assistant, you must have an excellent telephone manner as well
as being able to communicate clearly and effectively via email and
face-to-face. You will need to build and maintain effective relationships
with candidates, ward staff and internal stakeholders. You must have the
ability to work as part of a team whilst managing your individual workload.

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will work within the LTHT staff bank office which provides a core
operational function, working closely with other departments to support in
the effective recruitment and deployment of nurses and midwives and other
temporary staff within the scope of the service. The post holder will
participate in the maintenance and updating of the e-rostering and related
bank/agency systems. The post holder will work under direction of more senior
staff within the LTHT staff bank Office. The team support the recruitment
process for substantive and bank only LTHT Staff Bank deploy nurses and
midwives and other staff with scope of the service, on the e-rostering
system, manage rota gaps, record resignations, swaps, absence and sickness
and book Internal Bank and Agency staff as requested by CSUs.

Job responsibilities
Using bank/agency systems
co-ordinate bookings for internal and external bank and agency staff promptly
and effectively.
Provide administrative support to
the recruitment process for internal and external bank staff.
Follow standard operating procedure
for bank and agency sickness, advising CSU, updating e-rostering system
appropriately.
Add information (employee
data/shifts) onto the e-rostering and related bank/agency systems accurately.
Responsible for maintaining and
updating systems as appropriate and in a timely manner.
Under direction from senior
Deployment staff utilise systems to determine best course of action to
resolve staffing problems (basic swaps, checking rule breaches,). Highlight
irregularities or concerns to more senior Deployment staff.
Action delegated tasks by more
senior LTHT staff bank staff following verbal or written instructions e.g.,
emails/handovers.
Check the generic email inbox,
categorising and prioritising emails appropriately. Actioning emails as
appropriate to level of query.
Assists rota co-ordinators or other
operational staff with queries regarding the use of the e-rostering/bank
systems.
Provides and receives routine
information in writing, electronically or verbally with temporary staff,
operational CSU staff and agency supplier.
Provides and receives routine
information which requires tact or persuasive skills e.g., informs a nurse or
midwife they are unable to swap their shift.
Provides advice or demonstrates own
activities and workplace routines to new or less experienced employees in own
work area.
The Deployment office provides a 7
day/week service therefore the post holder will be required to cover flexible
shift patterns from Monday - Sunday, from 8am - 6pm.
To perform any other duties of a
similar nature in line with the grade of the job as may be required from time
to time.
