are looking to replace 2 Senior Practice Learning Facilitator secondment
roles with substantive posts in the Pre registration Education Team.
Post
1:
We
are looking to recruit an enthusiastic & highly efficient Midwifery
registrant with proven experience in the preparation, development &
governance associated with practice education placements.
You
will work specifically with our Womens Health & Midwifery Teams enabling
high quality practice placements for learners within these speciality teams.
This role also includes co-ordination of the midwifery CPD provision.

We
are looking for a registered health professional (Nursing, Midwifery, Allied
Health Professional) with proven skills & knowledge in creating &
supporting quality learning environments. We are welcoming applications from
all fields of experience, including those with Childrens
experience/qualification.
Both
posts involve working with internal & external stakeholders, responding
& contributing to local, regional & national education standards
development & implementation.
You
need to be passionate about supporting learners in practice, have experience
of supporting learning in clinical environments & have an understanding
of Pre-Registration Education programmes.
You will demontrate a good understanding of the NHS England, NMC
& HCPC standards .
The
post will be based at St James Hospital, but you will need to be able to
travel across all LTHT sites.
Main duties of the job
You
will be working with experienced & supportive colleagues from a range of
health professional backgrounds. Your allocated portfolio of work will
aligned to specific CSU's. Working directly with CSU colleagues, you will
support the clinical areas in identifying & implementing training,
development and supportive actions which enable practice colleagues to
provide safe, effective and robust learning experiences for learners across
the full range of practice settings at LTHT.
As
an experienced Practice Educator/Assessor, you will draw upon your prior
experience to advise & support learners & colleagues in practice in
identifying, managing & resolving any issues which arise for learners
during their practice placements. This may involve meeting with learners,
their supervisors & lecturers to advise on restorative action plans, to
identify relevant areas for improvement or to support in optimising the
available learning in a given setting.
Working
in partnership with the clinical teams and University stakeholders, you will
lead locally, on the implementation of local and national quality assurance
requirements which impact on practice learning. In doing so, you will develop
strategies and resources to ensure that practice areas provide high quality and
safe practice placements that provide suitable preparation of learners to
join the healthcare workforce. We also encourage research and innovation,
dissemination and publication within this role.
