Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join a Dermatology Specialist Nursing Team has become available. Medical dermatology is a rapidly growing service and the role of the Biologics and Systemic CNS Team is to support and offer guidance to patients with Chronic Skin Disease. This is a rapidly growing service which requires further development of the Nursing team to continue to provide quality care and positive health outcomes for our cohort of patients.
The advancement of targeted therapies to treat patients with chronic auto immune skin disease has provided scope for the Nursing Team to develop further. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to specialise and develop skills which will enhance a nursing career within the field of dermatology. The role will encompass working within the current Biologics CNS Team as well as developing a nurse led service working alongside the current Consultant led service, providing specialised care for patients diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppuritiva (H.S). Full support and guidance for the development of the H.S nursing role will be offered from the Lead Dermatology Biologics Nurse and the Dermatology Consultants who have a specialist interest in H.S and are already providing a service for this patient group.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will, with support, be responsible for the prescription management of targeted therapies within Dermatology services seeking advice from an experienced team of Clinical Nurse Specialists where necessary. The post holder will provide specialist nursing care and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the speciality service.
The post holder will carry the responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
