 are pleased to be advertising an exciting opportunity for a permanent (1.0
 WTE (37.5 hours / week)) Specialist Diabetes Dietitian (Band 6) based in the
 Manny Cussins Diabetes Centre at St Jamess Hospital at Leeds Teaching
 Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT). 
 
 This
 dietetic role is embedded within the Diabetes Service multidisciplinary team
 (MDT) and within our large and friendly dietetic service.
 
 We
 are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Dietitian with excellent
 communication and team working skills to work as an integral member of our
 team.

  Main duties of the job
  The
 LTHT Diabetes service provides care for adult patients predominately with
 Type 1 Diabetes and includes sub speciality areas of Young Adults, insulin
 pump therapy, a pre-existing diabetes and gestational diabetes antenatal
 service, delivery of DAFNE education and an inpatient service. 
 
 You
 will be responsible for a busy clinical caseload covering both inpatients and
 outpatients. Clinical experience of the dietetic management of patients with
 Diabetes would be an advantage. 
 
 There
 are also opportunities to be involved in departmental and MDT quality
 improvement initiatives/ working groups, in the planning and delivery of
 nutritional education to health care professionals and to contribute to
 service development initiatives.
 
 As
 part of this role, you will contribute to the supervision and placement
 provision for A, B and C Dietetic learners and Apprentice Dietitians.
 
 Once
 established in the role there is scope for some remote working opportunities
 (subject to service needs).

 required to enable performance in the job.
 5.5 Awareness of current issues in
 specialised areas of dietetics.
 5.6 Able to work within a team, demonstrate
 initiative, confidence and excellent time management and organisational
 skills.
 5.7 Good written, oral and interpersonal
 communication skills.
