Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (XR06)

The closing date is 02 October 2025

Job summary

An exciting opportunity (0.6wte - 1.0wte) has arisen for a new role as a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) or Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner (MHWP) to join us in providing low intensity psychology interventions to a wide range of adults from the regional Neurology, Neurosciences and Neurorehabilitation services. This is a permanent contract and hours are flexible based on the needs and wishes of the successful candidate, ranging from 0.6 WTE up to full-time. The post holder must be registered with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists and have significant post qualifying experience of providing low intensity psychological interventions. Experience and training in working with people with long term health conditions is desirable.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing initial triage assessments and low intensity psychological interventions as part of a matched care model. There will also be regular opportunities to co-facilitate group interventions for patients with different neurological conditions. This is a new role within the Neuropsychology Department and as such we think this would be a really exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced PWP or MHWP to be involved in shaping this new and innovative extension to our service offer. We would welcome someone who is interested in service development and evaluation and who can work with autonomy as part of our wider Neuropsychology team. The successful candidate will join a supportive and motivated team of Neuropsychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Assistant psychologists.
