We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and passionate individual to begin their journey towards becoming a qualified Physiotherapist. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about the profession and can demonstrate a clear understanding of the physiotherapy role through relevant experience.

This is a three-year, full-time BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree Apprenticeship that will equip you with the knowledge and clinical skills required to become a registered Physiotherapist. Youll gain hands-on experience as part of a dynamic therapy team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT), supported academically by the University of Huddersfield and through 1000 hours of placement opportunities. Appointment to this role is contingent upon successful enrolment in the university's apprenticeship programme.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will be recruited in a degree apprenticeship role within LTHT, combining academic study (20%) at the University of Huddersfield with 1000 hours of clinical placements and workplace learning.

As an apprentice, you will work under the supervision of registered professionals and be actively involved in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care.

You are expected to take initiative in developing your clinical competencies, achieving academic and professional milestones within the agreed timelines, and seeking support when needed.

Your work will span multiple clinical environments, and you will play a part in maintaining a safe and supportive clinical setting.

Commitment to complete the entire training programme, including all academic and placement components, is essential.

Job responsibilities

You will be based within the therapy team, working across various clinical settings. Teamwork is essential, and you may also supervise assistant staff or support work experience students.

Some of our services operate a 7-day service with extended hours (8am8pm), so flexibility for weekend and evening shifts is required.

This role offers the opportunity to develop your core clinical skills, contribute to service improvement, and participate in audit and clinical governance activities.

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

The post-holder will be a trainee Physiotherapy and will complete a BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy as a level 6 apprentice which will encompass teaching blocks at University, Clinical placements (within different services in order to gain a range of clinical experience across different health and social care settings) and in the Workplace. The university shall be selected and commissioned by the Trust.

The post-holder will continuously develop their skills and ability as they progress through the degree programme so that on completion they can manage and be responsible for a caseload, with supervision from a Senior Therapist/Team Lead, providing effective Therapy to people with relevant needs.

It is expected that the level of responsibility under each of the following duties will increase throughout the employees time on the degree programme.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

To successfully complete the Physiotherapy Degree Apprenticeship incorporating BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy and End Point Assessment

To attend University and Clinical Placements as set out in the degree programme

To complete and pass academic modules and clinical placements to the required standard in order to progress through the programme

To ensure timely achievement in accordance with the academic programme requirements

To complete and pass the End Point Assessment

In the workplace participate in the following duties, under appropriate supervision, thereby developing the required skills and ability to meet the requirements to become a Physiotherapist while progressing through the degree programme.

Clinical

1. To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients.

2. To deliver a service using the Therapy process (screen referrals, assess and plan treatment programmes, implement and evaluate treatment programmes, monitor and discharge) and core skills
