Job summary
We
are advertising for two Assistant Psychologists; one post to work in the
neuropsychology section and the other post to work into the Trauma,
Orthopaedics, Plastics and Prosthetics Team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Assistant
Psychologists to join the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at Leeds
Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have the
opportunity to engage in a range of clinical and research activities, which
will include direct therapeutic work with patients who are living with long
term health conditions, those who have experienced traumatic injury or those
who have neuropsychological difficulties.

Main duties of the job
We welcome applications from individuals who
have an interest in working in a clinical health setting. The successful
candidate will be required to work alongside Clinical Psychologists from
different health specialities. Duties may involve clinical assessment,
including administering and scoring psychological tests, and delivering
short-term therapeutic interventions with patients. Other duties include data
collection and analysis as related to research projects and supporting in the
development of research proposals and writing papers for publication.

Department of Clinical and Health Psychology is a large team made up of
Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Counsellors and Therapists. In
joining the Department you would have the opportunity to work alongside
different professionals and gain some experience of different speciality
areas, as well as receiving regular supervision from a qualified member of
staff. In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in
department-wide Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and to contribute to other
activities that support and enhance patient experience.
