An
exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Service Manager within the
Abdominal Medicine & Surgery (AMS) CSU. AMS is a large CSU comprising of
11 Business Units responsible for Cancer, RTT, Diagnostics, Planned &
Unplanned Care, as well as Specialised Services, and Kidney and Liver
Transplantation.
The
postholder will provide operational and strategic support to at least 2
surgical Business Units, as well as leading on a Transformation Programme
across the wider CSU and the relevant projects and improvement pieces
associated with this.
The
ideal candidate will be a dedicated individual with significant leadership
experience, with a proven track record for service improvement. The
successful candidate will be a champion of Leeds way Values, provide

culture of excellence, driving forward service improvements whilst
maintaining patient-centred care.
Main duties of the job
Provide
a senior management resource, capable of coordinating CSU-wide projects and
initiatives, delivery of business, workforce and financial planning across
the CSU as well as handling ad hoc issues delegated by the CSU triumvirate
team
Lead
the CSUs waste reduction programme and support speciality teams to meet
targets
Support
Service and Business Managers to meet delivery contract and activity plans
Co-ordinate
service improvement programmes across the CSU using Leeds Improvement
Methodology
Make
judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, which require the
analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options
Providing
operational business management and planning support across all specialties
within the CSU in order for the CSU to contribute its part to the Trusts
ambition and contributes to the delivery of Trust objectives
Deputise
for members of the CSU triumvirate team as appropriate.
About us
This
postholder provides senior CSU Leadership as part of the Service Manager Team
within AMS, The postholder will be expected to deputise for the Deputy
General Manager or General as required and having an independent portfolio of
work to deliver.
They
will lead a team of at least 2 Business Managers as well having independent
responsibility for a transformation portfolio.
AMS
is one of the largest CSUs at LTHT, employing over 1,200 staff, manging 11
wards and business units, with an annual budget of over £130m.

responsible for the delivery of access and activity targets, financial
management, HR, and governance for multiple services within the CSU. The
postholder will also lead on a key arm of the CSU transformation portfolio.

disciplines of Endoscopy, Gastroenterology, Nephrology and Hepatology. These
medical services wrap around integrated patient pathways alongside the
surgical services in the CSU of Transplant, HPB, Upper GI, Pancreas,
Colorectal, and Urology.

- Key working knowledge of NHS access targets, including cancer and RTT,

- Experience in developing business cases, reports, and proposals, and delivering presentations to large groups and various levels of staff.
