We
are pleased to advertise this exciting opportunity for a band 6 clinical
nurse specialist to work 30 hours per week with the Urology/ Oncology team.
The post holder will provide advanced, highly specialist nursing care and
advice to patients and their families diagnosed with penile and germ cell
cancers.
We
are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic nurse with excellent communication
and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part
of a team. You will require relevant experience at band 5 level.
The
post holder will actively be involved in the development, implementation, and
audit of patient care.

post holder will be responsible to the nurse specialist team leader. You will
have an office base within Lincoln wing, St James, but will be required to
work in other departments within St. James.
Main duties of the job
The
post holder will work with the penile/ germ cell Uro-Oncology CNS team and
support our service for patients who are having cancer treatments within the
Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for a
case load of patients undergoing various treatments ensuring they are
assessed managed and in accordance with local and national standards and
guidelines
With
the appropriate support and training we expect the individual to provide
advice, information and support to patients, carers and staff regarding
treatment and McMillan services. We expect the individual to provide care for
patients in line with Trust and Government strategies and targets. In
collaboration with senior medical and nursing & AHP staff the post holder
will assist in the support of research, audit and quality assurance projects.
