The
Abdominal Medicine and Surgery (AMS) CSU are seeking to recruit an
innovative, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is passionate
about delivering high-quality compassionate care, as well as leading change
and supporting staff into the role of Matron within Urology services at Leeds
Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job
The
jobholder will have overall responsibility for the management of
nursing/associated staff and the management of nursing resources/budgets
within the CSU or a part of it.
The
jobholder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical
care is provided within the wards and departments for which they are
responsible and ensure the principles of clinical governance are implemented
at a local level. jobholder has
through Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses direct management of nursing and support
staff.
The
jobholder has direct line management of the specialist nurses within the CSU
or a part of it. The jobholder is responsible for the management of nursing
resources and ward and department budgets.
The
jobholder will be easily identifiable to patients, provide strong leadership
through a visible presence and provide support, advice and assistance
required by patients, their families and carers. The jobholder will also support the
implementation of the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), being a
focal point for advice to patients and carers and local resolution of
complaints.

role of Matron within Urology is within the AMS CSU at Leeds teaching
hospitals with AMS being the largest CSU in the Trust, and we aim to deliver

post holder will be required to manage a number of CNS teams within Urology,
focusing on both benign and cancer urology treatments, as well as supporting
the acute urology pathways within the organisations. There will also be a
team of ACPs to work alongside in cancer pathways and acute urology work.
Part of this role will be to guide and lead the team, alongside the medical
and business teams, using their project management skills through the
development of innovative urology services in a newly refurbished Paul Sykes
Centre building.
