Job summary

The Abdominal Medicine and Surgery (AMS) CSU are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Administrative Coordinator to join our team in Leeds. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Coordinator who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised, with exceptional customer service skills to join the Urology team. The post holder will be an integral part of the Urology team and should be able to communicate with sensitivity and effectively with a wide range of people including medical staff, patients and colleagues. The successful applicant would support the Diagnostic and Surgery service within Urology which includes but is not limited to adding patients to the waiting list, booking appointments, booking admissions, and managing the demand and capacity within the service. The candidate would be expected to prioritise their workload effectively and ensure the timely and efficient running of the service. In addition to this the candidate will be expected to manage the waiting lists in accordance with access and cancer targets. They will ensure that processes/procedures comply with legislation requirements covering Health & Safety, Data Protection, and confidentiality. A detailed knowledge of patient administration processes, Microsoft Office packages and e-mail technology is essential.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high level of administrative support for the Diagnostic and Surgery service within Urology, as well as providing wider support to the Urology department.

Main areas of responsibility and knowledge include but are not restricted to

Managing the Diagnostic and Surgery service within Urology, including the adding of patients to Diagnostic waiting lists, booking the appointments and updating all relevant systems.

Knowledge of the Cancer Pathways, particularly understanding of the 2ww targets.

Knowledge of the Diagnostic Pathways and targets.

Diary and template management.

Knowledge of Hospital systems and applications i.e. PAS, PPM1, PPM+ and ICE

Ensuring appropriate and timely escalations are made regarding any challenges and potential breaches to the management team.
