B7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse /Team Leader- Endoscopy ServicesThe Endoscopy Service is looking for a motivated individual to take on the challenge and responsibility of Senior Sister /Charge Nurse /Team Leader within our Pre-Assessment Team. This role is an exciting opportunity to lead our team of dedicated nurses delivering the pre procedural assessments and care. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic individual with the ability to enable and empower their teams. Strong leadership and performance management is an integral aspect of this Band 7 role with patient experience and patient safety underpinning all care delivery. You will be responsible for co-ordination of the department / team on a daily basis managing the nursing establishment, attendance, appraisals, training and development, encouraging an environment of empowerment and facilitating change. You will be expected to provide an assurance that safety and governance standards are met and sustained for every patient, every time. Experience in Endoscopy is desirable, and candidates are required to have a minimum of 6 months experience of team leading at B6 level.

Main duties of the job

Leadership

Provide leadership to the clinical team

Support and inspire staff to provide efficient, effective, safe, quality care to patients

Deliver a positive patient experience

Promote the building of effective teams and collaboration between teams.

Anticipate problems and take preventative or mitigating actions, or have contingency plans available

Work with Matron to lead the development of ward/department nursing practice, reflecting the Clinical Service Unit and Trust business plans

Delegate and empower staff whilst maintaining overall, continuing responsibility and accountability.

Line manage the nursing team, including individual and team performance, attendance, management and workforce planning

Ensure the effective deployment of staff is mapped against the flow of patients to provide safe and effective care.

Investigate and respond to accidents, complaints, untoward incidents and other significant events.

Raise and respond to concerns with regards to risk, danger, malpractice or wrongdoing by following the LTHT whistle blowing policy and supporting processes.

Deputise for Matron in their absence.

The jobholder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team. They will liaise with wards and departments in order to provide a safe seamless service for endoscopy users. As part of their role they will be expected to work closely with teams from the other endoscopy sites and administration teams to plan and template future activity. They will also be required to ensure a timely cost effective service which achieves all NHS targets for the department.
