The Abdominal Medicine and Surgery Clinical Service Unit are looking to appoint a Liver Transplant Co-ordinator to join the existing team to provide care for patients undergoing transplant assessment, waiting list management and participate in a 1:5 on call rota.

The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the MDT as well as the wider national transplant community. In addition, they will receive full training and support in this exciting role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the patients through their liver transplant journey from their first meeting with the service through to the liver transplant operation.

The post holder will involve other health professionals, so the patient receives holistic care as part of their liver transplant journey.

They will play an integral role in the strategic development of the liver transplant service. They will play a part in developing clinical pathways so the patients are managed in accordance with national standards and guidelines.

They will participate in a 24/7, 365 days a year on call rota, receiving liver offers from the UK and Europe. The post holder will discuss these offers with the on call surgical Consultant and if accepted will be responsible for setting up the liver transplant, in a safe and efficient way.
