exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bariatric Service at LTHT. The
Clinical Specialist role within the Bariatric Services is within its first
year and is still in the development phase. With the expansion plans and
growth of this pioneering service we are now looking to appoint into a
permanent nurse specialist position. This will be an excellent opportunity
for any individuals looking to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist and provide
an opportunity to develop the necessary skills.
You
will be key in providing a comprehensive highly specialist service to
patients undergoing weight management via bariatric surgery. This role is a
Monday to Friday service and is a role that requires on site visibility to
support this service.
We
are looking for autonomous, dynamic individuals who have a passion for
patient care and an empathetic approach for caring for this group of
patients. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent
communication skills, managerial skills and work well as part of a team. The
aim of the post is to provide expert care, highly specialist advice and
support to patients undergoing bariatric surgery and their carers.
Main duties of the job
The
Jobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The
jobholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs,
the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the
setting of standards of care.
The
jobholder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment and advice to a
specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the
speciality service. The jobholder will ensure cost effective use of
resources.
The
job holder will support the development of interdisciplinary and whole
service working. As a role model they
will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality,
effective and efficient care. The job holder will provide training and
education to staff groups, patients and families/carers.

if the candidate has worked at degree level. The successful candidate will
need to demonstrate The Leeds Way Values in their practice. Knowledge of the
speciality is desirable but not essential.
It
is important that applicants recognise the importance of the
Multi-disciplinary team within this role and how they can continue to develop
this collaborative working.
