We have the opportunity to appoint 1.92 whole time equivalent secondment Band 7 Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse.
The successful candidate(s) will have regularly acted as a shift leader in a Critical Care setting also have been involved in the support & performance review of junior colleagues. Have a current Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) registration and be able to demonstrate recent extensive experience within the specialty. Be educated to degree level or demonstrate equivalent professional experience in particular caring for and managing the critically unwell patients. A critical care course and recognised teaching qualification is essential.
Main duties of the job
The Jobholder will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward/department. Providing professional, clinical, and managerial leadership, and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining the unit philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery and having a focussed approach to care for those who care for our patients.

Adult Critical Care consists of 5 critical care units, 2 at St Jamess Hospital (General Critical Care and Surgical - Oncology Critical Care).
J54 General Critical Care and 3 units at Leeds General Infirmary (Cardiac Critical Care, and Neurosurgical Critical Care) and L6 General Critical Care. L6 is a busy 10 bedded multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit (ICU) providing high quality care for Level 3 and Level 2 patients. L6 provides specialist care for Vascular, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT), Max Fax, General, Renal, Trauma patients.
