Job summary

Trust Doctor Respiratory Medicine - Full time ST3 ST5 The post is for initially 6 months fixed term contract and is a fantastic opportunity for those desiring experience in respiratory medicine at a large modern tertiary Respiratory centre. It is intended that these posts could be tailored to meet training needs, including opportunities for trainees to become involved in respiratory research and procedural skills. The posts would be suitable for individuals who have completed at least 3 year experience in medical specialties by the intended start date.

Main duties of the job

There will be a commitment to a full shift respiratory HST on call rota, fully supported by Consultant daily ward rounds. The service is supported by a number of foundation year doctors, IMT 1-2 doctors, StRs as well as Physician Associate and Specialist Nurses. This will allow flexibility to tailor training to requirements, including clinics, as well as opportunities to develop pleural and bronchoscopy skills. It is intended that the successful applicant would be involved in audit and quality improvement projects, including the chance to collaborate with researchers to present at national meetings and publish work. We will ensure that the post receive dedicated clinical supervision with an experienced named supervisor, portfolio review, study leave and teaching programmes with evidence to count towards future training. The post is for initially 6 months.
