The Peritoneal Dialysis Service based at St James's Hospital treats and supports patients in home dialysis care. You will be working within the hospital and community settings. The peritoneal dialysis Unit is open 7 days a week Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8.00am to 4.00pm. You will be required to work early and late shifts and weekend rotation. Main duties of the job

To provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care. To deliver care without supervision both in hospital and community settings. Car driver is essential for this post. To take charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse. To participate in the in-service training, preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff, post basic learners and students. To take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of patients. To promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate patient care. To maintain personal development.

We have 14 inpatient ward areas located in Lincoln Wing and Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital, endoscopy units across three sites and 7 satellite dialysis units across West Yorkshire.
