The Leeds Renal Peritoneal Dialysis Unit are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking registered nurse Band 5 to join its busy team. The Peritoneal Dialysis Service based at St James's Hospital treats and supports patients in home dialysis care. You will be working within the hospital and community settings. The peritoneal dialysis Unit is open 7 days a week Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8.00am to 4.00pm. You will be required to work early and late shifts and weekend rotation. The post offers the opportunity to develop management skills as well as developing existing or new specialist nursing skills. Main duties of the job
To provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care. To deliver care without supervision both in hospital and community settings. Car driver is essential for this post. To take charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse. To participate in the in-service training, preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff, post basic learners and students. To take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of patients. To promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate patient care. To maintain personal development.
