Job summary
The advertised post of Lead Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF) is tenable for a fixed term of 12 months commencing August 2026. Please note that this vacancy is only open to applicants with a minimum of 24 months NHS experience at time of start date.
This post would suit an individual who aims to pursue a career in acute medicine, critical care or an acute medical specialty, and who wishes to develop their skillset in teaching, management, and leadership. The successful candidate will work with the Medical Education Undergraduate team and play a key role in coordination and delivery of the Newcastle University Medical clinical teaching programme for six sessions per week (annual average). The remaining four sessions per week will be spent with the Acute Medicine department undertaking clinical duties and professional development.
Main duties of the job
As part of the role, the successful applicant will be involved in the coordination of student rotations in years three, four, and five, assist with the preparation for and delivery of examinations and early clinical experience visits, and work closely with the administration team. The clinical element of this post will be supervised by a substantive Acute Medicine Consultant.
