Job summary

The advertised post of Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF) is tenable for a fixed term of 12 months commencing August 2026. Please note that this vacancy is only open to applicants with a minimum of 24 months NHS experience at time of start date. This post would suit individuals who aim to pursue a career in acute medicine, critical care or an acute medical specialty, and who wish to develop their interests in teaching.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be involved in coordinating and delivering the Newcastle University Undergraduate Medicine clinical teaching programme (5 sessions per week per annual average) and will undertake clinical duties and professional development for the remaining 5 sessions per week. The main clinical duties are to support a busy emergency admissions unit. Specialist clinics and training can be arranged according to career interests.
