Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to invite applications for the position of Band 7 Ward Manager for Cragside Ward, part of our Mental Health Inpatient Older Persons Services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinical leader to join a well-established service and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, safe and compassionate care for older adults with complex mental health needs.

Cragside ward is a mixed sex organic Inpatient service supporting older people who may require inpatient treatment relating to their mental health needs.

Main duties of the job

To provide the highest standard of holistic safe and effective care through the use of evidence based professional practice, in line with agreed local and national standards.

Responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the ward.

Accountable for the planning and delivery of all aspects of patient care throughout the working period as set out in the NMC Code.

To provide a continuously improving service in line with the clinical governance framework, Trust objectives, and the NHS performance framework

To provide clinical leadership, expertise, advice and support to the nursing and multi -professional team to facilitate the effective delivery of care to patients at all times.

To support and continually develop staff to ensure they have the appropriate level of skill, knowledge and competence to meet service/speciality requirements
