Job summary

This is a new post for an anaesthetist with a specialist interest in Pain Management. The post holder will provide high quality care for patients within the Anaesthetic Department and provide perioperative care for elective and emergency patients across the range of specialities available within the QE Hospital. The candidate will join a team of consultants and other professionals with an interest in Acute and Chronic PainManagement. On call commitment is on the theatre/obstetric rota with rotational commitments on the weekend Trauma rota.

The post holder will work flexibly with their Consultant colleagues within the wide remit of the Department's activity. A formal job plan will be agreed on appointment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration, with licence to practice
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia, or within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training at time of interview.
  • FRCA or equivalent
  • Completion of Advanced level training in Pain medicine

Desirable

  • Higher postgraduate qualification in Pain Medicine
  • Formal teaching qualification or instructor status for relevant courses (e.g. ALS, ATLS).
  • Evidence of experience or additional qualification in Regional Anaesthesia and/or Interventional Pain Management
