We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Screening Technician to join the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme - Undertaking abdominal ultrasound scanning as part of the community AAA screening programme

Training and assessing new screening technicians undertaking the 'Health Screeners Diploma.

Main duties of the job
As a experienced Screening Technician you will be required to lead the junior Screening Technicians in the day to day management and supervision of screening delivery, ensuring efficient, effective and timely working across all community sites.
You will assist the Screening Programme Manager in conducting annual appraisals and recruitment for the Screening Technicians.
To hold a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent or willing to work towards this, as this will be essential for the training of future Screening Technicians, jointly with the Clinical Skills Trainer
The post includes ad hoc cover to the AAA Screening Programme Manager for annual leave/ sickness.

- The post holder will have a key role in ensuring equity of access, assisting in the sourcing of appropriate clinic locations and conducting quality assurance assessments of sites as per National Guidelines.
- The post holder will take joint responsibility for ensuring fail-safes are implemented and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure quality of service.
- The post holder will assist the Screening Management team in conducting annual appraisals, 1 to 1 meetings and in the recruitment of screening technicians.
- The post holder will act as an intermediary for screening technicians and programme manager.
- As an accredited screening technician, the post holder will maintain their AAA screening skills and abilities and participate fully in the AAA screening clinic rota
