Job summary

An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated Lead UTC Practitioner to join the Gateshead Urgent Care Service working between theUrgent TreatmentCentresat Blaydon and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

This is a time of development and improvement for our UTCs, with potential for investment and development as part of the plan to improve Urgent and Emergency Care in the Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will be lead of the Urgent Treatment Centres, and committed to personal and team development and expected to carry out clinical education, appraisal, supervision and performance reviews in order to develop all staff and students within the team. Substantial experience of supervision and appraisal of a team is essential, as well as being a certificated mentor for student nurses.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate the ability to take on new challenges and will be involved in the continuous shaping and development of the teamand the overall Urgent CareService tomeet any changes in service delivery and to ensure a high quality of care to all patients. Previous involvement in service improvement and audit is therefore required.

Use national and local guidelines to support safe decision making and practice.
