Job summary
Applications are invited for the above post based within the Maternity department. The post holder will provide an efficient, friendly and above all confidential reception service to the unit, as well as efficient and effective data entry to support the various computer systems used in the department. You will also work closely with medical professionals including Doctors, Nurses, Midwives and GPs providing support where necessary.
The applicant will have excellent communication/interpersonal skills, a good telephone manner and indicate an ability and a willingness to support other team members. IT skills, previous clerical experience, and experience of data entry are essential. Knowledge of Careflow and experience of working in a hospital/care environment are desirable.
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed individual to join an established team within the Maternity unit.
Working pattern 6 hour shifts working a rota over 7 days inclusive of all bank holidays.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a high quality clerical service to the Maternity reception with the aim to facilitate and enhance the quality and availability of patient information to the Clinical and Administration Team.
