Job summary
The advertised post is for a part time consultant in Emergency Medicine (5PA), based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Gateshead. These posts will consolidate the Consultant presence in the Emergency Care Centre (ECC), which opened in February 2015. The successful candidates will work as part of a team with the existing twelve Emergency Medicine Consultants and one Specialist Doctor. Main duties of the job
The appointed Consultant will be expected to collaborate with multidisciplinary professional colleagues to strive to ensure the best, most streamlined levels of care for our patients. We operate an open and honest culture within the organization.He/she is expected to observe the Trusts agreed policies and procedures, and to follow the approved standing orders, financial instructions and standards of conduct. In particular, where he/she manages employees of the Trust, he/she will be expected to follow both national employment law and local personnel policies and procedures. He/she will be expected to make sure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in care of patients to be able to contact him/her when on call.There are opportunities for the appointed consultant to develop a specialist interest to complement the department and Trust.
