Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated person to work within Gateshead Community services podiatry service. Reporting to the Podiatry Professional Lead, the post holder will provide professional and clinical leadership to qualified and non qualified staff within the podiatry service.
As this is a community post, successful applicants must have the ability to travel across the whole of Gateshead independently in order to fulfil the needs of this role. Main duties of the job
The main duties of the post would be to undertake the tasks associated with a team lead role, for example (but not limited to):

- Managing waiting lists and staff clinical rotas
- Appraisal planning and delivery
- Staff time management - approval of timings / annual leave / some special leave
- First line sickness management - staff notification of sickness / contingency planning / back to work discussions
- Inphase / Incidents- first line investigator for incidents relating to the service
- Authorising travel and expense claims
- Clinical supervision
- Recruitment and selection - involved in process, and induction and forward planning for new team members
- Overseeing staff statutory mandatory training requirements and ensuring completion
- Planning and coordinating team meetings
- First line complaints contact (formal and informal)
- Assisting in patient safety issues, including safeguarding, risk management etc.
The post holder will be based at Bensham Hospital but will also be required to work in other locations undertaking podiatry clinics, doms and wound care sessions, therefore it is essential that the post holder has a full driving license and own car to enable mobile working.
