Job summary
These posts are aimed at doctors who would like to gain more experience in orthopaedics before committing to a particular career. Candidates wishing to work less than full time are welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the admission, clerking and day to day care of patients admitted to the orthopaedic unit, as assigned. Participate in the on call rota Participate in audits and current research projects. These are available through individual Consultants. Attend departmental teaching. Participate in the teaching of Foundation Doctors at the bedside as well as to Medical Students. Attend practical procedure training Involvement in Quality improvement projects To maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the hospital. To perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant in conjunction, where practicable, with their colleagues both senior and junior.
