Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join us in this post as Service Line Manager for Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) at GHFT.

The Service Line Manager will be responsible and accountable for the overall management of the Service Line and all service line staff. This will include developing business strategic plans and performance management frameworks and processes to ensure delivery of all key quality, activity, workforce and financial targets and to ensure the service we offer to patients is of the highest quality, safety and efficiency. The Trust, in partnership with Newcastle Hospitals, will be opening a Community Diagnostic Centre in 2024 at the MetroCentre, plus an additional MRI scanner on the QE site. The postholder will be integral to the successful implementation and ongoing operations of these projects. The Trust has several transformation programmes underway and the is postholder will be key in terms of leading changes.

This fantastic opportunity would suit an experienced operational manager, with a track record of working as an innovative and collaborative leader.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with other Service Line Managers, The Trust Lead AHP, Clinicians and professional groups both within the Trust and with external partners. As such candidates will need to demonstrate experience and ability to provide expert advice and guidance to Board Members, Senior Managers and staff both within and across organisational boundaries.

Candidates must have excellent inter-personal skills, have the capacity to relate to a wide variety of Health Service professionals and be educated to Master's degree level or equivalent.

The Service Manager will be responsible and accountable for the overall management and delivery of Gateshead's Diagnostics Imaging services. This will include developing the strategic plans, SLAs and Commissioning arrangements and performance management frameworks and processes to ensure delivery of all key quality, activity, workforce, SLA and financial targets and to ensure the service we offer to patients is of the highest quality, safety and efficiency.
