Job summary

We are adding a Remote Care Assistant to our established team of Audiologists. This is a relatively new role that will involve the provision of remote aftercare services to our hearing aid users. You will communicate with service users via telephone, email, post and in person. You will provide advice around hearing aid use and maintenance, send supplies to service users and carry out routine maintenance and repair of hearing aids.

Main duties of the job

  • Operate the remote care telephone line which is the first point of contact for service users requiring advice, hearing aid supplies or hearing aid maintenance / repairs.
  • Monitor the Audiology email and respond to patient queries and requests regarding advice, hearing aid supplies or hearing aid maintenance / repairs.
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on hearing aids posted to the department by service users.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work as part of the Audiology team and will carry out the daily operation of our remote aftercare service. This will include:

  • Operate the remote care telephone line which is the first point of contact for service users requiring advice, hearing aid supplies or hearing aid maintenance / repairs.
  • Monitor the Audiology email and respond to patient queries and requests regarding advice, hearing aid supplies or hearing aid maintenance / repairs.
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on hearing aids posted to the department by service users.

The post holder will use a number of IT systems and computer packages to fulfil this role. The post holder will become familiar with the hearing aid systems used in the department and will, following training, be able to carry out straightforward repairs and programming of replacement devices.

The post holder will be required to contribute to audit and monitoring for the remote aftercare service.
