We are seeking an experienced and motivated Perinatal Mental Health Nurse to join ourWandsworth sub-team.
The successful candidate will already have essential perinatal mental health experience and be committed to delivering compassionate, trauma-informed, family-cantered care.
As a core member of our multidisciplinary team, you will hold a defined caseload, carry out timely assessments, deliver specialist interventions, and work collaboratively with services across the care pathway including maternity, HTT, inpatient units and the MBU.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Perinatal Nurse within the Perinatal Mental Health Service, you will provide a high standard of evidence-based assessment, formulation, and intervention for women experiencing complex and enduring mental health difficulties during the perinatal period.
As a core member of our multidisciplinary team, you will hold a defined caseload, carry out timely assessments, deliver specialist interventions, and work collaboratively with the MDT and other services across the care pathway including maternity, HTT, inpatient units and the MBU. Your interventions will promote recovery, wellbeing, and the development of positive mother-infant relationships.
The post holder will manage a defined caseload, undertake comprehensive risk assessments, and contribute to diagnostic and multidisciplinary care formulations. You will also participate in duty and triage functions, supporting the team to meet clinical and performance targets while ensuring safe and effective care.
The role includes providing clinical supervision, mentoring and training to students.
Collaboration with partner agencies is central to this role, and experience of inter-agency working and child protection procedures is desirable.

- NMC registered
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Desirable
- Additional Specialist training, e.g. Diploma in Perinatal Mental Health
- Supervision Training
Experience

- Considerable experience in adult mental health and community settings
- Experience of working as an autonomous clinical practitioner and managing a complex case load.
- Audit and research skills and ability to interpret and apply to practice
- Knowledge of family/group/cognitive and behaviour therapies
Desirable
- Experience in the assessment and treatment of Perinatal mental health
- Experience in children's nursing
