Clinical Manager - NDD Services

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for this Clinical Manager role at Band 8b to manage our Neuro Disability Services for the Mental Health Trust. This post oversees Mental Health Trust services for people with a Learning Disability in the boroughs of Merton, Sutton, Wandsworth integrated Physical Health and Mental Health Team, ADHD/ASD services in Sutton, Merton and Richmond (ADHD only). We work closely in partnership with our local authority Community Teams for People with Learning Disabilities.

This is an exciting time in Neuro Disability Services, which can be challenging and complex and we require a highly motivated manager who can inspire staff and has strong organizational skills. If you are confident in working across partnerships, with a variety of stakeholders, and can lead and develop services, please consider this post. You will need to work across sites but have a base in Storey Building Tooting.

You will need to be able to work autonomously, have good clinical knowledge and be able to represent the service line both internally and externally in relation to working with Learning Disabilities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to clinically and operationally lead and manage the delivery of high quality services in a defined area, within available resources and in line with the Trusts governance framework.

To ensure the quality of clinical care within their defined areas

At all times to role model effectiveness working with with colleagues, holding self and colleagues to account appropriately and demonstrating personal commitment to the delivery of high quality services.

To be accessible in order to lead and promote quality and to empower and enable staff/teams to develop and maintain their skills and competencies in order to retain a sustainable workforce.

To promote evidence based practice, including Identify risks and take corrective action in line with the trusts integrated governance framework, including responding to Serious Incidents (SIs), Incidents, complaints and communications, ensuring timely and thorough investigation, disseminating recommendation and monitoring that actions are fully implemented.

To take a key role, by actively contributing, in the planning and delivery of the business objectives, service plans and change projects, ensuring customer focus, consistency, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Contribute to external groups and specific projects and work streams as required within the local health and social care community.

The post holder will take part in the on-call rota.

In conjunction with the Nursing Directorate, the post holder will advise Senior Managers and Clinical Directors on professional and practice issues. Under the direction of the Nursing Directorate, the post holder will lead on the provision of professional advice to colleagues at all levels across the Trust in relation to specific clinical matters and practice

Promote, through personal actions, support for the Trusts key policies on Equality and Diversity, and use of the recovery-orientated approach for people with mental health needs.

To work closely with professional colleagues, corporate services and partner agencies to lead the continuous improvement services.

Committed to ensure service user / carer experience is positive, services are responsive and accessible, and transitions between services are smooth and seamless.

To communicate effectively with all staff; recognising the need for good information during periods of change.

Support the Trusts reputation and that of all senior colleagues at all times; maintaining a positive attitude with a strong commitment to improvement in all areas.

To have clinical oversight for the use of their resources ie beds/ caseloads and to ensure that the whole Trust resources are used effectively. Active liaison and leadership with the ACCC.

Provide professional judgement and expert advice in relation to clinical assessments and care planning, especially for patients with complex needs.

Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, using patient satisfaction feedback and reflection on practice
