The Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Liaison Psychiatry for Kingston Hospital. This is an established post. The vacancy has arisen as a result of the retirement of current post holder.
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dynamic Specialty Doctor in Liaison Psychiatry to join thiseffective, friendly and rewarding service.
Main duties of the job
The Specialty Doctor in Liaison Psychiatry will work with Liaison Psychiatry Consultant, Dr Bruce Tamilson, to provide medical cover to the hospital wards and the Accident and Emergency Department, whilst working within the Liaison Team. During daytime hours, the team sees patients above 18 years in all wards and departments, including the Emergency Department and Clinical Decisions Unit.

Our Recovery College has been visited by overseas healthcare commissioners, who have gone on to develop similar services abroad in collaboration with our Trust. The Trust is also proud to have also developed a range of new, progressive, public facing services including Crisis Cafes and a Mental Health Support Line.
The Trust also provides a range of national services, the advice and expertise of which can be easily called upon for the benefit of CMHT patients.
Following a CQC Inspection in 2018 the Trust became one a few Mental Health Trusts to have achieved a "Good" rating.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Primary Medical degree.
- Full GMC registration
- At least 4 years postgraduate medical experience, of which at least 2 years working in psychiatry
- Eligible for S12 approval and able to obtain this within 6 months of appointment
Desirable
- MRCPsych or equivalent
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
KNOWLEDGE: & EXPERIENCE:
Essential
- Experience of general adult psychiatry
- Assessment of simple or complex mental illness
- Assessment of comorbid physical ill-health
- Teamwork ,Communication ,Ongoing commitment to CPD
Desirable
- Experience of liaison psychiatry
- Experience of inpatient psychiatry
- Experience of crisis & home treatment
- Teaching experience
- Experience of managing physical and mental disorder at a middle-grade level
