Job summary
Aquarius Ward is a specialist inpatient mental health provision for young people aged 12 - 18 who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. It is a 12 bedded National Unit open 365 days a year, 24h a day. It is part of the South London Partnership providing the adolescent in-patient services for young people under St George's Southwest London Mental Health Trust, South London and Maudsley and Oxleas NHS Trust.
The team provides inpatient treatment for adolescents aged 12 to their 18th birthday in an acute mental health crisis that is unable to be managed in the community with conditions such as severe depression, anxiety OCD, self-harm, psychosis and mania. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that is committed to the provision of highly quality service user centred care. Our teams are looking for compassionate, extraordinary Mental Health Nurses that want to make an impact.
Main duties of the job
The Nursing Associate within community or inpatient services will be expected to provide care and support for service users of all age. This role is intended to address a skills gap between our health care assistants and our registered mental health nurses.
The Nursing Associate will deliver high quality, personalized, safe, compassionate care in the best interest of people. The Nursing Associate is equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours across the fields of nursing, providing holistic care and support for people of all ages in a variety of settings.
The Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of registered nurses, working within the sphere of nursing. The Nursing Associate recognises and works within limits of their competence. The Nursing Associate works to a nationally recognized code of conduct and is registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
SWLSTG currently have positions available within Kingston, Richmond and Wandsworth boroughs. All positions are full time, either Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm within the community settings or Monday to Sunday shift work within inpatient settings.

Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities. A 32-acre public park, shops and cafes are coming soon.
