Job summary

The successful candidate will work as part of a team with a ParaDoc GP, Occupational Therapist or Charterd Physiotherapist, providing urgent health care to residents of City and Hackney in line with ParaDoc protocols and procedures. The ParaDoc Paramedic will provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care to patients in a pre-hospital environment, working alongside the Hospital Integrated Independence Team (IIT) and our Clinical GPs to provide around the clock care in the local area, with a focus on falls and patients with associated mobility issues.

The postholder will respond using advanced emergency driving skills and manage emergency calls. This includes receiving direct calls from Care Workers, Care Homes, other Health Care Professionals. These calls must be triaged as appropriate, and then responded to in an appropriate, timely manner

The ParaDoc Paramedic will formulate and deliver critical care plans and treatment for patients in accordance with agreed Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee (JRCALC), College of Paramedics (CoP) and National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), Trust policies and current legislation.

Main duties of the job

o To be responsible for driving the ParaDoc car to and from patients' homes.o To be responsible for maintaining the car and ensuring its contents are in goodworking order; including checking and replenishing equipment in the car anddoctors case.o To ensure the all drug cases are correctly administered and all drugs are signedoff appropriately.o Attend patients alongside the ParaDoc GP / Therapist.o Take clinical lead in the rapid assessment, triage and treatment of all patients.o Formulate a coherent and relevant plan of action, including onward referral toLAS/GP/IIT/other care agencies.o Work with the ParaDoc GP / Therapist to offer the patient high qualityassessments and referrals, including falls assessments.
