Job summary
The Women's Health Leadership Team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Service Manager to join the team. This role is ideal for someone wanting to develop their career and provide leadership and operational management for Maternity and Neonatal services.You will support the smooth running of NICU, Obstetric and Gynaecology services by overseeing daily activity, income, administrative functions and processes, working with the multidisciplinary team to help meet NHS care targets. The role requires someone who is proactive, highly motivated, works well to deadlines, and pays strong attention to detail.
You will help ensure safe and effective care through effective line management and teamwork, and by making sure administrative processes and information flow are efficient. Building strong working relationships across staff groups is essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft programs; experience in a clinical setting, collating and reporting data, and good problem-solving skills. The ability to lead change and bring structure to discussions and processes is central to the role. Experience with budgets, NHS activity and finance processes would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job
- To establish a high level of understanding ofGynaecology & Fertility services and teams, to enable cross cover of key points within the Women's Health portfolio.
- Work with the divisional management team, Associate Medical Director, Operations Director, Head of Nursing/ Head of Midwifery, Clinical Leads and Heads of Service to ensure the achievement of performance and other local and national clinical and non-clinical targets.
- Work with the divisional management team within specific clinical areas and in partnership with operational managers and clinicians to ensure the effective provision of consistent quality services.
- Provide first line operational management to support theatre activity, outpatient and administrative departments and supervise systems and processes.
- In liaison with the Lead Consultants, Head of Nursing/ Head of Midwifery, ensure appropriate systems and processes are established in departments and areas to support the robust reporting and progress of governance, risk and safeguarding issues
- Manage designated financial resources within budget and support the Operations Director/Head of Nursing/Head of Midwifery and Medical Leads in financial management within the directorate
