Clinical Governance Specialist Midwife for PMRT, ATTAIN and SBL

Job summary

We are looking for an exceptional midwife for the position of Clinical Governance Specialist Midwife with key focus on PMRT, ATAIN and SBL to join our team in our journey towards excellence!

You will be joining our team at a key time when changes to strengthen our governance umbrella is being made to support us in achieving and sustaining outstanding care to the communities we serve.

Main duties of the job

  • The main responsibilities will include leading on PMRT, ATTAIN and SBL. This includes using the PMRT toolkit, ATTAIN spreadsheet, reviewing case notes, investigating incidents and analysing themes and trends.
  • Saving Babies Lives aspect of the role, includes coordination of the CNST evidence To provide feedback on PMRT and ATAIN and progress the implementation of recommendations from these meetings. Track and follow up on actions devised following these meetings.
  • Develop key relationships with stakeholders to support improvements
  • Track and follow up on actions devised following incidents, investigations and after action reviews (AAR).
  • Support and provide guidance to all staff within maternity services in relation to patient safety and clinical governance
  • To contribute to the maternity clinical risk management strategy and provide support in monitoring the effectiveness of the maternity services risk management strategy.
  • To attend the Trust complaints, litigation, incident and pals meeting (CLIP), and when required deputise for the Maternity Clinical Risk Manager at the trust Patient Safety Committee (PSC) as a midwifery expert. In addition, attend the maternity services risk management meeting (MRMR)
  • Promote and maintain cohesive working relationships with obstetricians, neonatal team (medical and nursing) anaesthetists and other specialists.
  • Maintain a clinical and leadership role.
