Job summary

A rare opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join the Homerton musculosksletal team has become available.

We offer the opportunity and support to develop within a long established and successful musculoskeletal service.

We are a a secondary care MSK physio service that has strong links with our community MSK partners, with rotational staff working across both primary and secondary care.

The role will involve close working with Accident & Emergency the orthopaedic and Sports medicine services which are the main source of referrals to the team.

The role will involve supervision and operational responsibilities, service development expectations alongside the usual clinical demands.

You will be supported in the role with:

  • Regular senior MSK teaching
  • Dedicated 1:1 band 8a supervision
  • Funding and study leave for learning opportunities/courses/MSc modules

The Homerton's award winning MSK teams consists of:

  • GP & Consultant referred outpatient services
  • Homerton Healthcare & community outpatient locations
  • Post-orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation, sports medicine, pelvic health, ESP/APP, MSK ultrasonography, non-medical prescribers, virtual fracture & persistent pain clinics.
  • Close working relationships with Radiology, Rheumatology, Orthopaedics, Podiatry & Emergency Medicine

Main duties of the job

Some of the main duties are as follows:

- Provide clinical expertise as a senior Physiotherapist managing musculoskeletal patients.

- Act as senior within the department in the abscence of band 8a/8b, managing operational tasks, patient complaints and potential incidents.

- The successful candidate will be a key member of the team in delivering clinical education and quality improvement projects throughout the service, as well as evidence-based patient-centred physiotherapy management to a varied caseload of musculoskeletal patients.

- You will have the opportunity to develop your supervision and mentorship skills with the opportunity to supervise band 6 Physiotherapists
