Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an Extended Scope Podiatrist - Podiatric Surgery to become part of a highly motivated and enthusiastic team.
The experienced team of a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon and Podiatrists assess, diagnose and manage deformity and pathology of the foot including specialised clinics within the field of, complex foot and ankle surgery, biomechanics, diabetes and rheumatology. Clinical duties will include working in both the outpatient and operating theatre setting.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with good interpersonal skills who enjoys working with the public and a range of clinical and non-clinical colleagues to join our team. The successful applicant will provide specialised programmes of care within the Podiatric Surgical service to meet the needs of the accessing population and provide support in all aspects of service delivery.
The successful applicant will ideally have an interest in podiatric surgery and will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with the Consultant Podiatric Surgeon, Service Manager and Team Leader to further develop the Podiatric Surgery Service and preferably be active in research, audit evaluation. Supervision and teaching will be provided to the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
The Podiatry Service delivers specialist care to a diverse patient population presenting with foot and lower limb conditions, primarily within a primary care setting. Led by an experienced team comprising Consultant Podiatric Surgeons and Specialist Podiatrists, the service provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of foot deformities and pathologies.
The Extended Scope Podiatrist is a pivotal role in supporting Consultant Podiatric Surgeons in the diagnosis and management of highly complex foot and ankle conditions. This includes active involvement across the entire patient pathway--from outpatient assessment and pre-operative planning, through to theatre support and post-operative care.
