With the addition of a post working at Hackney Social Services occupational therapy department, this is a really exciting time to join our Band 6 rotation to gain experience across the acute and intermediate care field. We are very excited about the new social services role, and how it can fit into an NHS rotation.
The rotations are 9 months in duration and are based across three locations within Hackney; Homerton University Hospital, Hackney Service Centre and Orsman Road.
If you are an experienced Band 5 or an existing band 6 keen to develop your expertise, this post will offer you the opportunity to increase your specialist skills in the assessment and treatment of acute and long term conditions in a variety of settings; in-patient, intermediate care, community and outpatient.

Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist occupational therapy for a wide range of patients requiring assessment and rehabilitation in acute inpatient, and community environments.
- Provide clinical supervision and appraisal for Band 5 occupational therapists, therapy assistants and students, depending on rotation.Participate in ongoing service evaluation and development.
- The post holder will be working in a challenging socio-economic environment, involving patients who have highly complex social problems and those from culturally diverse backgrounds.
