Job summary
The CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) is a team of clinicians who review a child/young person's emotional and mental health concerns and help establish the best way to support.The CAMHS SPA work with a variety of organisations that offer emotional well being and mental health support and can also access different types of support eg: online advice and guidance. Their function is to work out which service or type of support will best meet your individual needs and to work with you to access this.Each referral form will be considered to identify which form of service is best placed to meet the individual needs of the child or young person.These decisions may be made by clinicians reviewing the available information on this referral form. Additionally, the decision may also involve the SPA clinician making contact with the child/young person/family or carer to gain further relevant information.
Main duties of the job
- To be part of Community CAMHS Senior management Team (SMT) linking with other CAMHS Alliance services and agencies within the local authority including voluntary sector services and the CCG.
- To provide clinical leadership to the Single point of Access (CAMHS SPA) for the CAMHS Alliance led by Homerton Community CAMHS.
- To provide clinical leadership and consultation to the duty / triage system in City & Hackney CAMHS
- To write funding bids; to manage finance streams in conjunction with Heads of Service and Finance; to link with partners in the voluntary sector involved in partnership projects as required
- To be part of the senior management team involved in operational management, ensuring the service is safe and effective
- With the senior management team, to develop and implement policy and service development changes
- To undertake line management of HUH staff within the team
- To undertake management of health roster and recruitment
- To support in the co-ordination of the work of the service on a day to day basis, resolving operational issues independently and effectively with the team whilst seeking advice and support from the Head of Community CAMHS as appropriate
- To facilitate and manage referral meetings (huddles) including clinical communication with referrers and consulting with other professional re complex risk issues
