Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to offer a fixed term consultant post within an integrated sexual health service across a range of clinical sites in Hackney. The post will cover maternity leave and is planned for 12 months in the first instance.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for Sexual Health and HIV outpatient clinics, providing advice to other clinicians on Sexual Health and HIV matters.
This post includes clinical governance leadership responsibility.
The post holder should demonstrate a commitment to medical audit and be able to supervise other members of staff performing audit and quality improvement programs, as well as performing these themselves.
This post involves providing leadership and advice on patient care to the multidisciplinary team across a range of services delivering an integrated sexual health service that offers STI management and contraception care.

The post-holder will be proficient in the following / participate in the following:
Ability to investigate and treat common presentations within the sexual health clinic including young people, commercial sex workers, survivors of sexual assault, and MSM.
Providing leadership and advice on patient care to the multidisciplinary team in an integrated sexual health service offering STI management and contraception care. Operating as senior clinician in a busy walk-in clinic, providing clinical advice to colleagues and supporting the nurse co-ordinator to manage patient flow and deal with any untoward incidents.
Providing educational and clinical supervision to junior doctors.
There is an opportunity to deliver HIV treatment and care.
There may be an opportunity to manage patients presenting with psychosexual problems.
Ability to advise and prescribe common methods of contraception.
Ability to fit subdermal implants and/or intrauterine devices is desirable but not essential. If required, FRSH approved training will be provided by the department.
