Job summary

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Public Health Nursing Assistant/Team Administrator.

You will be primarily based at our offices on Orsman Road and will be expected to travel to school sites to carry out the screening and deliver health promotion as needed.

The post holder will work within a team for a defined number of schools, and will work under the supervision of the School Health NCMP Coordinator, and lead by the Neighbourhood Leader. You will work closely with the School Nurses in their team. The post holder would also support team administrative team. The percentage of PHNA and administrative work would be subject to service needs.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include:

  • Be responsible for weighing and measuring all consenting children in Reception and Year 6
  • Enter the heights and weight data onto appropriate IT systems and produce and send feedback letters and relevant information on achieving and maintaining a healthy weight to parents.
  • Plan and manage appointments within schools in a timely manner
  • Plan and deliver health promotion sessions in schools
  • Complete administrative tasks for the Neighbourhood.
