Job summary
The division of Surgery, Women's and Neonatal Services (SWNS) has a new vacancy for a Service Manager post for an improvement-minded leader to support the Breast, Plastics, General Surgery & HANS clinical services. The services included in the portfolio offer a range of challenges and opportunities with some related to cancer provision, some SLA managed services and some bespoke Homerton only services. This gives an exciting opportunity to an aspiring operational leader to get involved in and learn about a range of services and delivery models. The post is supported by two assistant service managers and a service clinic coordinator.
The successful candidate will provide management and leadership to the department, working alongside clinical staff to implement pathway improvements, deliver service developments, and improve patient and staff experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the divisional management team, clinical leads, and other stakeholders to provide a high quality service, ensure the achievement of performance targets, and to provide first-line operational management for outpatient, inpatient and administrative systems for the General Surgery Portfolio. The post holder will also provide line management to the general surgery operational team.
