Job summary
We are seeking Band 5 and Band 6 Radiographers to join our friendly and efficient Radiology department.
Our busy CT department utilises two scanners to provide a 24-hour service for patients from ED, wards, OP and GP referral sources. Examinations include cancer diagnoses, trauma calls and Bowel Cancer Screening with Colonography.
We offer training to staff interested in developing their skills in our busy Breast and Magnetic Resonance Imaging services. Ultrasound training opportunities are made available to internal candidates regularly.
Our experienced team of Advance Practice Radiographers provide examinations and reports in Ultrasound, MRI, plain imaging and Barium studies. We offer regular development opportunities and support to staff interested in exploring these areas.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Radiographer you will be expected to rotate through all plain imaging areas with the opportunity to undertake CT training as part of your progression pathway to becoming a Band 6 Radiographer. As a Band 6 Radiographer in addition to plain film rotation you will support the provision of the CT service and have the opportunity to undertake training in other modalities.
As a Band 5 or 6 Radiographer you will be expected to participate in the (paid) on call and out of hours service. You will actively participate in the red dot and commenting system for ED and nasogastric tube assessment, following support and training from our team of plain imaging Reporting Radiographers.
