Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a full time position in this busy community clinic. Hackney Ark provides health services for children and young people with disabilities.
You will be part of a small team of reception staff who provide both a welcome function for children and their families but also provide full clinic coordination functions to manage and book appointments on behalf of the community paediatricians.
The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and be skilled in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and be able to use a patient data base.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder is responsible for being the first port of call for patients, visitors and staff to the centre, in ensuring the efficient and effective co-ordination of the multi-agency clinics. Duties and key responsibilities include the co-ordination of appointments and reviews, and liaison with professional staff and service users.
- The post holder will have shared responsibility and knowledge of database and management systems relating to computerised patient administration systems and other computer based data entry systems.
- The post holder will also have shared responsibility in ensuring the recording, particularly of outcomes, collection and monitoring of all statistical data for the service is correctly entered and be accountable for maintaining an up to date database.
- The post-holder will be expected to work as part of the team, with flexibility to accommodate the changing needs of the clinics. The job description outlines the current main responsibilities of the post. However, the duties of the post may change and develop over time and this job description may therefore be amended in consultation with the post-holder.
