Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative OT to lead and develop the autism pathways for Hackney Community Paediatric Occupational Therapy Services. This post is an ideal development opportunity for an existing band 7 with funding agreed for either leadership course or relevant MSc module confirmed to support development within the role.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and diverse team, based in the heart of Hackney, at Hackney Ark Child Development Centre. We are looking for a leader who can further develop service growth and innovative working. S/he will hold an area of clinical expertise dependent upon skills and service need, and will be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge in other key areas. This role will require the successful candidate to promote the provision of high quality, evidence based occupational therapy services, which will promote the function, skills and participation of children and young people in Hackney.
Main duties of the job
This post provides a unique opportunity for an OT with relevant experience of working with children and young people, to promote and grow OT partnerships across education, social care, health and housing. The postholder will also be expected to partner with children , young people and families in the co-design of new services.
Hackney Ark is the health centre for children and young people with disabilities aged 0 - 19 years, very close links exist with partners in education and social care.
The post holder will ensure a coordinated and collaborative approach to service integration with partners including Education, Health and Social Care. This will include:
- The negotiation and development of traded services with schools and settings
- Leadership across the Social Care Integrated OT service through integrated working with Housing, Local Authority Adaptations Team and the contracted equipment provider. This will include the creation of protocols, pathways and policies that reflect legislation, guidelines and national and local priorities.
You will report to the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and work closely with other members of the inter-disciplinary team.
