Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Compliance Manager to join the Environment Directorate here at Homerton University Hospital. The successful applicant will provide management and assurance on all aspects of compliance within the Environment Directorate to ensure that Patient, Staff and Visitor environments are safe, secure, and compliant with all statutory and mandatory legislation, and Department of Health guidance. They will carry out these duties to ensure that the Estate is run in a way that optimises efficiency, effectiveness, and patient experience

Main duties of the job

To provide management and assurance on all aspects of compliance within the Environment Directorate to ensure that Patient, Staff and Visitor environments are safe, secure, and compliant with all statutory and mandatory legislation, and Department of Health guidance. To carry out these duties to ensure that the Estate is run in a way that optimises efficiency, effectiveness, and patient experience.

The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the Environment Directorate compliance are robust, suitable, and sufficient, for the provision of assurance status reports and for the generation and management of action plans to achieve and maintain compliance.

To be the professional lead for Compliance, and Business Management functions, responsible for managing the delivery of a compliant, high quality, safe, efficient and value for money service.

The post holder will be responsible for the implementation of compliance and business management throughout the directorate ensuring robust systems and processes are in place with affective performance management.

The post holder will line manage the Administration Team ensuring all directorate governance is standardised and managed in accordance with Trust practices.

The post holder will hold a key managerial role within the directorate and will lead by example, providing a professional, positive patient focussed ethos and will strive to delivery high quality outcomes.

Desirable

  • Recognised auditing qualification to a higher level, such as ISO 9001 External Auditor or similar.

  • Extensive experience in management and compliance or regulation preferably within the NHS Estates & Facilities
