As part of the Endoscopy administration team, to provide an effective, efficient and courteous service, ensuring all appointments are booked in accordance with Trust Policy and appropriate action is taken to fully utilise clinical availability.
The postholder will be expected to work as part of a team together in providing excellent levels of patient care; proactively monitor the patient pathway to ensure all elements of the patient care is arranged as appropriate.
To work as part of the endoscopy team supporting the clinical staff in booking urgent and routine endoscopy appointments and dealing with patient queries. Liaison with a range of professionals including consultants, nurses and administrative staff throughout the hospital will be an integral part of this role.
To take responsibility for the efficient running of endoscopy referrals and booking processes together with the Assistant Service Manager.Work with the endoscopy team to ensure achievement of performance and waiting time targets.
Main duties of the job
Endoscopy team at Homerton Healthcare is looking for a Booking and Referral Coordinator for a permanent post. Post holders will be working directly with consultants, nurses, secretaries, patients, relatives, general practitioners and other hospital staff. The role will primarily include booking endoscopy appointments, dealing with patient queries and provide administrative support in day to day operations.
You will have strong administration experience and preferably working within healthcare. You are expected to be highly organised with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload. The successful candidate should be able to use their initiative and think logically.
