The post holder will be involved in the training and development of Specialist and Rotational Pharmacy Technicians and Senior Assistant Technical Officers within the team.It is expected that the successful applicant will be an experienced PharmacyTechnician with expertise in Procurement Distribution and Stores. You will also require excellent IT skills and have extensive experience managing a team of technical staff.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for overseeing and managing the Procurement Distribution (P&D) and Stores service within the pharmacy department and acting as line manager to the Deputy Pharmacy Technician for Procurement, Distribution & Stores, the Pharmacy Homecare and Medical Gases Technician, SATO Purchasing and Homecare and SATO Stores.
To ensure a safe, high quality patient centred Purchasing Stores and Distribution service this includes all aspects of medicine storage, including medical gases, aligned with the guidance document Good Distribution Practice (Orange Guide)
Leads the planning, development, monitoring, audit, evaluation, and delivery of the Purchasing Stores and Distribution service across the Trust. Ensuring that working practices meet requirements of medicines legislation, professional, local and national guidelines.
To provide professional leadership and management of all aspects of Purchasing Stores and Distribution services for all staff members who work within the environment.
To promote excellence within the Purchasing Stores and Distribution department and model behaviours of continuous learning and improvement to others.
To be one of the Principal Operational Pharmacist's deputies, providing technical leadership, at regional level, and participating in the wider strategic agenda for pharmacy technicians.
Facilitate the personal and professional development of staff. This involves identifying training and development needs.
