Job summary
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for four members to join the Infant Feeding Team within the Enhanced Health Visiting service in City & Hackney. The post holder will support the infant feeding lead and play an integral part in establishing a centrally coordinated infant feeding support service across City and Hackney. In addition, with support from the wider infant feeding team, the post holder will be responsible for liaising with an external provider in recruiting volunteers and implementing a breastfeeding Peer Support Service within City and Hackney.
Main duties of the job
The Infant Feeding Support Workers will work across the Neighbourhoods of City and Hackney within the Enhanced Health Visiting Service. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a commitment to best practice in breastfeeding/infant feeding in line with community infant feeding and UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative alongside relevant professional Codes of Conduct. This will be an opportunity to play an active role in the locality team acting as a resource and champion.
The post holder will have shared responsibility in ensuring the recording, collection and data quality of all patient data for the service. You will be instrumental in providing specialist support and guidance for mothers to initiate and maintain breastfeeding. Previous experience and training in supporting breastfeeding is essential.
